Janet is a registered dietitian and an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; she worked as a Clinical RD in hospitals, health care facilities, and for physicians in private practice for more than fifteen years. Janet holds an M.S. degree in Nutrition and Food Science, summa cum laude, from Hunter College, New York City, and a B.S. degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, summa cum laude, from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York.
Janet excelled in science throughout her academic studies. She was an undergraduate science peer tutor favored by students and professors alike. She was top in her class in graduate school and was awarded a teaching grant based on academic merit. She assisted professors with the undergraduate Nutrition courses then, upon earning her Master’s degree and her RD, pursued careers in both clinical care and education. She taught numerous courses, including Introductory Nutrition, Nutrition in Health and Disease, and Food Protection & Safety at the post-secondary level and she coordinated and oversaw the students field work and hospital practicums.
Janet also taught Nutrition, Health, and Biology at the secondary level where she conceived the idea of BioL-O-Gee R.A.P.TM She currently devotes her time to writing and producing BioL-O-Gee R.A.P.; and is an invited guest speaker and presenter at schools and colleges throughout the United States. Janet's credentials, clinical background, teaching skills, and writing ability enable her to create science-based videos which are unique, fun, and factual.
